What is agentic AI?
Traditional automation follows a script. Agentic AI is given a goal and works out the route.
An agent interprets context, plans its steps, operates the applications and data it needs, holds context across long-running cases, and improves based on results. Reasoning plus the ability to actually do something — that is the shift.
The caveat that matters: reasoning alone isn’t a business outcome. Agents become dependable only inside a control layer that sequences their work, enforces permissions, records every decision, and keeps people in charge where it counts.
